GUIDELINES
FOR ABSTRACT
RECOMMENDED ABSTRACT TOPICS
PREPARATION
AND SUBMISSION
The Pacific Coast Reproductive Society invites you to participate in the 56th Annual Meeting Scientific Program through the submission of abstracts of original scientific research. Abstracts must be submitted electronically through the online submission process, which will be available August 1, 2007.
ABSTRACT DEADLINE
11:59 p.m. PST – December 12, 2007
NO faxed abstracts will be accepted.
NO emailed abstracts will be accepted unless specifically requested by the PCRS office.
NO abstracts regarding human reproductive cloning will be accepted.
Abstracts submitted must contain original work, not published previously or presented at a meeting of another national or international scientific organization prior to this meeting.
The local Institutional Review Board (IRB) or equivalent must approve abstracts if any human subject or any human material is used.
Once your abstract has been submitted on-line, you should receive an automated e-mail response acknowledging receipt. If you do not, please contact the Society office immediately.
Notification of acceptance or rejection of all abstracts will be by return e-mail message beginning January 15, 2007. If you have any questions regarding abstract submission, please send e-mail to alexis@pcrsonline.org.
All decisions of the PCRS Abstract Review Committee are final.
All presentations must be made in understandable English.
WITHDRAWAL: The last date to withdraw an abstract accepted for presentation, without penalty, is January 21 2008.
FAILURE TO PRESENT: Authors whose abstracts are accepted for oral or poster presentation who fail to present their work, fail to have it presented by a co-author, or withdraw the abstract after January 21, 2008, will not have abstracts considered for presentation at the PCRS Annual Meeting for the following two years. Exceptions will be considered if PCRS is promptly notified for extreme, unforeseen circumstances.
Submission of an abstract for consideration for presentation implies that the presenting author intends to register for and attend the meeting to present her/his work. implies that the presenting author intends to register for and attend the meeting to present her/his work.
FORMAT GUIDELINES
Abstracts must adequately describe the research performed so the Abstract Review Committee can evaluate the quality, originality, and completeness of the work.
Only structured abstracts with the following headings can be submitted:
• Background: A briefly worded description of the reasons for the study.
• Objective: An introductory sentence indicating the objective and purpose of the study.
• Materials and Methods: A description of experimental procedures including applicable statistical evaluation.
• Result(s): A summary of the new previously unpublished data and results.
• Conclusion(s): A statement of the conclusion(s).
• Support: Identify all sources of financial support for the research or state "None" if
appropriate..
All sources of support for the research must be identified in the abstract
as well as in the disclosure box in the submission database.
A separate Disclosure/Conflict of Interest Declaration must be completed
on separate pages for EACH individual author.
