The Pacific Coast Reproductive Society accepts general education grants from interest commercial entities.  The funds are payable only to PCRS and will be used as PCRS deems appropriate for the support of educational programming.  Supported activities are coordinated and certified by the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society (Provider).  Industry support of CME activities with funding or equipment will adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. The Company and the Provider agree to abide by all the principles inherent in the ACCME’s Standards for Commercial Support of Continuing Medical Education (available upon request) and the AMA/PMA Guidelines on Gifts to Physicians from Industry (available upon request).
  2. The Company provides the above funds in the form of an unrestricted educational grant and agrees not to exert control over the selection of the speaker(s), presenter(s), or other experts for the Supported Activity.
  3. The Company agrees not to exert control over the scientific content of the Supported Activity. The Company’s role shall be to facilitate, not create or influence scientific exchange.
  4. The Company, through the Provider, shall ensure that no promotional exhibits or advertisements or any other sales or marketing activity occurs in the direct path to or in the same room as the Supported Activity. Any promotional exhibits or other sales or marketing activity must be clearly identified as promotional and separate from the Supported Activity.
  5. The Provider agrees to ensure the Supported Activity will be free of commercial bias for or against any product and that, if the Supported Activity concerns commercial products, objective information based on scientific methods accepted in the medical community regarding said products will be presented.
  6. The Supported Activity including selection of speakers, presenters and other experts for the Supported Activity and that if such persons have any financial relationship with the Company, their recent and current relationships to the Company will be fully disclosed.
  7. The Provider agrees to acknowledge commercial support granted by the Company in appropriate printed materials and on the PCRS Website related to the Supported Activity providing the grant is received prior to printing/publication deadlines. All support associated with PCRS, CME activities will be fully disclosed in an appropriate form to the program participants,
  8. The Company shall execute a signed written Commercial Support Agreement form as provided by the Provider, prior to the start date of the Supported Activity.  Commercial supporters with missing documentation will be advised 30 days prior to the event their representatives will be not be allowed to access the exhibit hall or any other areas of the immediate meeting venue under the control of PCRS.
  9. The Company is responsible for ensuring their representatives have read and understand the PCRS Policy – Governing Commercial Representatives.
  10.  PCRS will not use commercial support to pay for travel, lodging, honoraria, or personal expenses for non-teach or non-author participants of a CME activity.  PCRS may use commercial support to pay for travel, lodging, honoraria, or personal expenses of bona fide employees and volunteers of PCRS. PCRS may use commercial support to provide scholarships to Residents and Fellows.
  11. Following the CME activity, PCRS, if requested, will report to each commercial supporter and other relevant parties information concerning the expenditure of funds each has provided.
