Our goal during this year is to find more ways to bring value to your membership in PCRS. With that in mind, we are developing “Members’ Only” Forums (aka “List Serves”) accessible through this website. Supporting online discussion on topics of interest, such as ethics, the IVF laboratory, protocols for COH and IVF stimulation, business aspects of an IVF practice, fertility nursing issues, and fellows’ issues in reproductive medicine affords PCRS members the opportunity for a broader range of opinions and options for problem solving.
We hope this form of professional networking will be a viable, active, way to provide an enjoyable and interesting area for members to stay connected and learn from each other. By September of 2010, PCRS will provide members with the login information needed to participate.
As this year moves forward, PCRS will continue to use online survey tools to find out from each of you what topics are of interest to you. I encourage you to send me (see my email below) suggestions you have for topics on which you might want to query your colleagues using online surveys. What do you want to know about what members are doing, clinically, academically, business-wise, etc? We will try to limit the surveys to specific groups as well, such as MDs only, PhDs and embryologists only, nurses, and fellows so the information you receive reflects your specific area.
Please save the dates for the 2011 Annual Meeting at Rancho Las Palmas in Rancho Mirage: April 13 to 17. Once again, we intend to provide a superb educational experience. Program Co-Chairs, Drs. Joe Conaghan and Ruth Lathi are using the results of your meeting evaluations and online survey responses to craft what should be a highly informative scientific meeting. PCRS will again be competing with the CV Music Festival, so make your hotel reservations now.
Here’s to an exciting and “connected” year. I look forward to hearing from you online and seeing you next year in Rancho Mirage.
My best to all of you,
Carolyn
