PCRS 2020 Annual Meeting — CANCELLED

Dear PCRS Annual Meeting Attendees and Supporters,

After many unsuccessful attempts to reschedule the PCRS 2020 Annual Meeting for later this year, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the meeting. We plan to move what programming we can from the 2020 meeting to the 2021 meeting. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We are truly thankful to everyone who put in great efforts for this event, including faculty, presenters, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, and more. While we are disappointed to miss the education, networking, and science that are hallmarks of our annual meeting, we know we are making the best decision we can at this point amid great uncertainty with the COVID-19 pandemic. Review Frequently Asked Questions

Registration Refunds

2020 Annual Meeting registration fees will be fully refunded to all. Please allow us some time to work through the enormous amount of transactions. You will receive an email confirmation once your refund is complete.

We Appreciate Your Generous Support of PCRS

Our annual meeting is the primary source of annual revenue for our Society, and canceling the 2020 PCRS Annual Meeting has created a situation of severe financial circumstances for our organization. We hope you will consider donating the entirety or a portion of your investment in this meeting to the PCRS Endowment Fund and Scholarship Fund.

You have the option to donate to PCRS, a tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization. Donations will be used to ensure the longevity of the scholarship program so PCRS can concentrate on rebuilding the 2021 program and supporting members.

Reservations

Hotel ReservationsHotel reservations within the PCRS block and at the special rates are only available to registered attendees and may be made online only. Upon completion and payment, you will receive a confirmation email with an exclusive link to access the hotel room block set aside for PCRS attendees. Telephone reservations will not be accepted.

If you are not registered but would like to book a room, you may contact the hotel directly to reserve a room outside of the block. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Hotel Block Rates:*
Single / Double Occupancy: $279 / night
Deluxe Corner: $299 / night

Once the room block is full or closed, PCRS will not be able to assist you with room reservations. Rooms in the Palm Springs area during this peak period can be hard to find and rates available to the general public may escalate significantly as the meeting date draws near. We urge you to register for the meeting and book your rooms as early as possible.

*Rate listed does not include taxes and fees

Important Rooming Notice

PCRS has been alerted that an unofficial housing provider has been contacting PCRS members and exhibitors claiming they can secure discounted hotel rooms for the PCRS 2020 Annual Meeting. This company, and others like it, are not authorized to represent PCRS, nor do they have access to officially contracted room blocks or rates on behalf of PCRS. PCRS has not provided names or contact information to these organizations. PCRS is the only official housing provider for the PCRS 2020 Annual Meeting. For your own protection, please do not make reservations through any other housing or travel company.

  • Many of these agencies cannot actually guarantee a reservation because they do not have contracts for room blocks with the Renaissance Indian Wells Hotel. They will contact a housing wholesaler to see if anything is available that can be resold to you.

  • Even legitimate wholesalers cannot knowingly book conference delegates in the conference block. Only PCRS can book within our block of rooms. If the hotel determines that a conference delegate has been solicited or contacted by a wholesaler, the room rate may be increased to match or exceed the group rate or the room reservation may be canceled. A rate quote from a room broker is not a guaranteed rate.

  • Rooms booked through unauthorized housing companies must sometimes be fully prepaid. Rather than a one-night deposit, an unauthorized company may require payment of the full cost for the entire stay for each room booked at the time of booking. NEVER give your credit card information out to someone who calls you and offers you a good deal on guest rooms for the PCRS 2020 Annual Meeting. PCRS will not call and solicit you in this manner.

  • Reservation confirmations and numbers are often not available from these companies until less than a week before the arrival date. Even then, this may not guarantee that a room will be available when you arrive.

  • Name changes on room reservations with unofficial wholesalers/room brokers may be difficult to make.

  • PCRS will not be able to assist delegates or exhibitors who have reserved rooms outside the block if problems result from booking through an unauthorized company. PCRS’s contract with the hotel includes clauses to protect our delegates should the hotel oversell the rooms or should any issues arise with reservations. If you receive a call or e-mail from an outside company, please contact us immediately at [email protected]. PCRS encourages all conference attendees and exhibitors to secure their guest rooms within the group block by making your hotel reservations after registering for the annual meeting in your attendee portal.
