Instructions to Receive Credit

In order to receive credit for this activity, the participant must attend the conference and complete a program evaluation. Certificates of credit will be emailed to learners 3-4 weeks after the conclusion of the conference.

  • At the conclusion of the meeting, all eligible attendees will receive an email to complete the program evaluation.
  • PCRS provides the post-test to attendees three weeks after the conclusion of the event to evaluate the retention of the knowledge gained by attending the sessions. Attendees must complete the post-test to earn CME.

Statement of Need/Program Overview

The Pacific Coast Reproductive Society annual meeting is designed to provide Continuing Medical Education (CME) to physicians and allied healthcare professionals. The Pacific Coast Reproductive Society’s (PCRS) global commitment to exceptional patient care is embodied in the continuing medical education of physicians, their teams, and allied professionals. Promoting the highest standards of clinical practice, patient safety, and improved patient outcomes, related to the treatment of infertility, is consistent with the principles and goals of PCRS.

The Pacific Coast Reproductive Society’s CME program is based on the integration of clinical practice, scientific research, and education in Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) Consistent with these values, the following goals of PCRS/CME are intended to:

  1. Cultivate an atmosphere for thinking differently, unconventionally, or from new perspectives
  2. Offer thought-provoking programming enabling physicians, their teams, and allied health care professionals to provide superior medical care for patients
  3. Update or reinforce knowledge of current concepts, techniques, or practices
  4. Promote innovation in clinical practice and research
  5. Foster the integration of advances in relevant scientific and clinical research ensuring clinicians access to timely and relevant information
  6. Enable clinicians to recognize, practice, discuss, and apply new concepts, technologies, or practices, as they relate to the management of infertility in their specific area of clinical practice or research
  7. Further the identification and recognition of ethical, psychological, and cultural patient concerns
  8. Provide a forum for clinicians, academicians, and other professionals in allied fields to create or renew collegial and collaborative relationships that enhance their effectiveness, promote high standards of clinical practice, patient safety, and improved patient outcomes
  9. Facilitate a career-long continuum of medical education.
  10. PCRS accomplishes these goals through its Annual Meeting, which includes multiple disciplines (in reproductive medicine) in an educational program attracting regional, national, and international participants.

Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

1. Recognize strategies and pathways for job searches post fellowship.
2. Apply knowledge of disparities, specifically race, in reproductive health to clinical practice, with the goal of improving access to fertility care.
3. Understand the current data and clinical risk-benefit of mosaic embryo transfers.
4. Discover lab influences on outcomes.
5. Understand the impact of air quality on laboratory success.
6. Discuss male factor issues and treatments in IVF.
7. Integrate knowledge about embryo selection in the genomic era.
8. Weigh the pros and cons to having an off-site lab director.
9. Assess recurrent implantation failure.
10. Understand new ideas in non-invasive diagnosis of endometriosis
11. Discuss endocrine disruptors and their impact on the IVF cycle.
12. Classify new SART details relative to male infertility.
13. Discuss the legal updates with Roe v Wade.
14. Recognize the current state of NIPGT
15. Offer options for transgender patients.

Physician Accreditation Statement

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Global Education Group (Global) and Pacific Coast Reproductive Society.  Global is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Physician Credit Designation

Global Education Group designates this live activity for a maximum of 18.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

 

Nursing Continuing Education

Global Education Group is accredited with distinction as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation[AF1] .

National Society of Genetic Counselors

The National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) has authorized Pacific Coast Reproductive Society to offer up to 1.8 CEUs or 18 Category 1 contact hours for the activity PCRS 2024 Annual Meeting. The American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) will accept CEUs earned at this program for the purposes of genetic counselor certification and recertification.

 

American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB)/ Professional Enrichment Educational Renewal (PEER)

Pre-approved by ABB/PEER for up to 19 hours of continuing education credit

Instructions for Obtaining Credit

In order to receive credit, participants must complete a post-test for each CME activity attended and the overall final evaluation. Participants must also score at least a 70% on the post-test. Certificates will be emailed to the email address provided during registration.

*NSGC members must include their User ID to receive credit and complete the requirements by May 15, 2024. Please utilize these instructions to help find or create a free or paid NSGC User ID.

**ABB members that reside in Florida must include their state license number and complete the requirements by April 15, 2024 to receive credit.
